Opinions on R40 speakers

I found a pair of R40's locally. One tweeter is bad, and confirmed it is just the tweeter. What are your opinions on this speaker in terms of value and performance. Is it worth replacing the tweeter and updating the crossover? I am checking now with Polk to see if they still sell tweeters for the speaker. Also, are the Mid-Woofers (5.25" I believe) reliable if driven resonable. I searched the forum and did not find anyting on R40 speakers.
When we pulled the tweeter to check it out I was surprized at how minimally built it was...especially compared with the Peerless and RDO-194's that I have in the Monitor 5's.

I have had them for a long time. Love them. I do keep the crossover at 80hz though so they don't get beat up. I also just ordered two new tweeters from polk because one of mine died also.. I have a 100watt amp running them.
