New to the audio world looking for some guidance on where to place my sub.
I will provide some photos later but right now the only spot I have for the sub is put away in a corner or behind/beside the couch.
I'll provide a floorplan on my basement maybe that will help.

Well if you only have those two spots, corner placement will make it more boomy typically but some people love that heavy bass. Placing it next to the sofa is fine if you take the time to adjust it. With placing it so close to your sitting location, sometimes it can over power.
Try both, search the term "sub crawl" on google and try that or just place it where you like it. Sub frequencies are omni directional ie. it can go anywhere in your room as long as it sounds good to you in your listening position. The sub sounds great anywhere, only your room dimensions and deco affect it. I have two 505's up front one each between the tv and the left and right speakers. I know this is not optimal, but, it is the only place they can fit and they sound stinking awesome. It took a ton of tweaking but that is what this hobby is about. If you dropped a big block in your hot rod you would have to tweak that too! good luck! -

Will do!
Right now I have it placed in the front with my towers and center I've read it's not a good spot for it but man the bass is ridiculous on some action movies even with the power set to level 2 of 10.
Any tips on how to properly tweak the sub?Onkyo TX-NR809
