I have 2 pair of Lsi7's The ebony pair was modded first. Face (Mike) did the mod on the crossovers. The caps used were Sonic Caps. The ebony set has a couple of scratches on the cabinets, that I covered with a brown furniture pen, noticable from up close though. The modded Lsi7's sounded sooooooooooo good, that I recently bought a 2nd pair (Cherry cabs) for the bedroom. Sent crossovers to Face to get the same crossover mod done.

However, my wife watches a lot of TV in the bedroom, so the cherry set are hardly used. The crossovers have about 120 hrs on them, mainly from trying to burn in the crossovers at low volumes while at work.

The cabinets are in great shape, no scratches, rating 8.5 /10. The crossover mod cost $200+, Therefore

I am looking for $395 + shipping for the Cherry set. I will be keeping the ebony set unless you talk me into keeping the cherry cabs and selling the ebony set

Oh my this is so tempting if only I wasn't broke and unloading myself!

How would you characterize the modded difference? Tighter bass, clarity, coherence??? You might just have me selling plasma...

Hey rooftop, the Lsi's are a great speaker. The stock speaker images very well, it is accurate and detailed. Bass is pretty good for its size. However, the difference I hear with the mod, is the proverbial "lifting of the veil" As good as it was b4, it was like someone removed a sheet from in front of the speakers and now it sounds extremely clear. Close your eyes and it's like the vocalist is in the room with you. Cymbals sparkle..... bass is nice and tight. I'm not really good with reviewing stuff and all the lingo, but the best way to describe the difference is like a piece of cloth had muffled the sound and then the cloth was removed!!!!!!!

Now that's saying something because the Lsi's stock sound great...................especially for the money they can be had for these days. The mod is definately worth while.

With all the knowledgeable folks here, I'm suprised these babies are still available.

These speakers are "good" in their stock form with only a couple of shortcomings described above, some of which can be dealt with in a lesser way synergistically, with experimentation in amplification and placement.

But when you get a deal like this. Where that's been dealt with in crossover upgrades and the price is still as low as the "stock" price on Polk ebay's site. It's a no brainer. If I didn't already own a pair, I'd be all over this. Would LOVE to hear a modded pair!

    GLWTS!
