Bought Polk Satellites, Should I Keep Klipsch Sub?

First post so take it easy on me!
I have heard differing opinions on sub matching so I wanted to get the polk folks input. I recently had to downgrade my Klipsch Reference setup since I moved into a smaller place. I replaced it with the Polk TL1900 system but am on the fence about using the included Polk PSW108 subwoofer since I still have my Klipsch RW-10d laying around.
The Klipsch is clearly superior on paper but I am wondering if it is too powerful for this mini-sat system? I am hesitent to hookup the Polk and try it out because then I wouldn't be able to sell it as new and unused. Any thoughts?

f you liked your sub, hook it up and use it. You can always turn the volumn down, but it's really difficult to add power to a sub.

It's not new once you bought it,sorry. Try both and keep the one you like best.If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

I think that you are definitely right that overall the klipsch is a better sub, but the problem is that those satellites only reach down to maybe 150 HZ, and that sub is only rated up to 120, so you will have a nice big mid-bass gap that will make male voices and lots of other sounds sound empty and hollow. I think that your best bet - if you can - might be to keep both. If the rw-10 had a crossover I would say cross it over at the lowest point so that it picks up where the other leaves of (about 40 hz) but since it doesn't I would just try messing around with both at the same time and see how it wounds. Otherwise I would say either keep the polk or sell them both and get a better sub that reaches up a little higher.

Thanks! You are right that the sub only goes up to 120HZ, but I think the sats go down to 95 so hopefully there is no gap. Your idea to keep both is a good one, just gotta convince the wife -
The tp3s only go to 115. The tl1s only are rated to 135 and that is optimistic.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Yea, I am really not certain on the TL 1900. I was looking at the polk website, here, but it's not clear to me from the specs they give. Maybe someone here on the forum knows. -
Welcome to Club Polk!
The TL 900s sats have a usable lower frequency of 125 hz. So I'd say you'd be OK with the Klipsch. It IS the better sub here. In fact it pretty much matches up, spec-wise, with a larger Polk PSW 505.
