The right sub for my 2ch rig (one question)

So believe it or not, the best sub I've used in my 2ch rig are the sub sections from my vintage Polk RT1000p. There is no crossover adjustment so I've only tried them out with speakers where they would blend in nicely. I got excellent result with my Maggies before and for the past 2 weeks I've been using them with my Lowther. The blend is seamless.
There is something about the bass from the built in subs. I know it sounds crazy but for me they are the most musical subs I've heard. I've had many subs in my rig but I like these the most. I'm using the pair as stereo subs.

Now, I'm planning to have the builder at my dealer build me a pair of the sub sections within the next year. I'm basically going to bring in the speakers and have him clone the subwoofer section and use plate amps.
I know Polk doesn't make the drivers anymore. The sub section uses a 6.5" driver in a bandpass enclosure which fires directly to the power port. What kind of driver should I be looking at for the build that would make a good replacement for the original? As for the power port, if it's too difficult for him to build using wood, I will try to obtain a pair from Polk if they still have them.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I've heard a lot. I worked at a high end HT shop at one point and got to play with their subs as much as I wanted.
The ones I've tried out here would be a couple of Velodyne (Don't remember model #'s) and a few Paradigm. The Servo 15 and PW2200 are very impressive. I used to own a Polk PSW650 as well.
I like the Paradigms a lot but they still can't do music like the subs in my RT 1000p's. I still don't know what it is. Maybe they just work out better in my room or maybe the bandpass design is more to my liking. So I'm looking for a pair 6.5" woofers that are close enough to be used in a clone of the RT1000p's sub section.

Have someone measure the T&S parameters of Polk's driver.
