I'm looking at getting a couple speakers fixed with blown woofers. Curious what user feedback is on just having them re-coned instead.

The speakers are Boston Acoustics VR-970. These both have a 10" and 12" side firing woofers. The 12" rattles terribly in both. Upon inspection they were visibly separated on the outer ring. I glued them back up and they sounded great for like a week but they then came apart in another section. They are needing to be replaced properly. I've seen re-coning is from $40-$60 each and that doesn't include shipping back and forth. At that point I'm getting close to $150 to $175. Curious if it's better to just put in new ones at that point.

Only you can decide if it is worth the money or not. The current value may help with that decision.
