Need to up your budget a bit. For a bill more you have some great offerings from epik, hsu, outlaw and the likes. Good luck with the hunt!

You missed his question. Looking for a sub $400 system, not a sub $400 SUB, lol...

Oomph! Well, that changes things! Sunday morning coming down, eh?! I'd like to hear the Samsung 'toob' system in that range...

That's easy, I paid $200 for my Pioneer SX-980, $150 Polk LS90s and a cheap crapsung BRP I had laying around.

Should have no problems piecing something together that sounds better than it should.

    Where do you live ?
Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
Preamp: Joule Electra LA-150 MKII SE
Amp: Wright WPA 50-50 EAT KT88s
    Analog: Marantz TT-15S1 MBS Glider SL| Wright WPP100C Amperex BB 6er5 and 7316 & WPM-100 SUT
    Digital: Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core i5 8g RAM 1.5 TB HDD Music Server Amarra (memory play) - USB - W4S DAC 2
Cables: Mits S3 IC and Spk cables| PS Audio PCs

Under 400, how about under 200 used!

Look for some vintage Polk Monitor 5s and a JVC R-S 33 receiver to power them. Or a Yamaha CR-820, etc. (maybe even CR-620).

Want something "newer". Harman Kardon 3390 (or the older 3380 might be cheaper). And a pair of "refurb" but still 2 year warranty in mint condition Polk Rti-4s, then add a sub later!
