Newbie with a broken mystery speaker. Polk Monitor??

Hi all, found this forum while I was searching for a replacement speaker. I got these three speakers a few years ago basically for nothing. They sounded amazing until my wife knocked the right one over and hosed the woofer.

Here's the info I've been able to garner thus far:
Center:
Tweeter: SL4000
Woofer: MW4802
Fake Woofer?: SW4800

Bookshelfs:
Tweeter: SL4000
Woofer: MW7001

First problem: Replacing one of the MW7001's, I can't seem to find a direct replacement. I wanted to go this route even if it costs a bit more as I know how it sounds, but I am open to buying 2 drivers and replacing both, problem with that is I can't find any specs on these ones.

2nd problem: The little cover of the fake speaker (passive radiator? more info on this would be good too). came off as seen on the picture. Do I need to worry about this at all? I just noticed it this morning when I wanted to pull the speakers and get the part numbers.

Can't seem to edit the original. Found a bit more information.

And I found the center speaker, I could just faintly make out the cs150 from where the sticker was. Just barely shows on the wood.

Seems they are just Polk Monitors. Interesting. Well, I guess my only question now is if I can't find a driver, what should I put in them?

I wasn't aware of any centers that used a PR.... Interesting.

I'd never even seen/heard of one before until now, it weirded me out at first. Thanks for the welcome, I had a crappy old 6.5" laying around that I put in for the time being, sounds better than without a driver, but not as good as before.

For replacement parts, CALL Polk Customer Service.

The PR's dust cover is the part that fell off. A speaker using a PR needs to be a sealed design, so I have to imagine the dust cover is solid and therefore needs to reattached in order for it to work properly.

A passive radiator works like a port without the issues of a port. IMO, it's far better than a port.

Since you got them for nothing you may not want to spend nothing. :eek:
So you just plug the hole with a piece of dense lightweight foam. or find a plastic cap and some sealant :cheesygrin:

Well, polk had a replacement for it. They confirmed that they are polk monitors as well.

For the PR's dust cover, what should I use to reattach it. I have the dust cover still. Would a rubber cement work? Or something else?

contact cement both parts let dry for a couple of minutes and put in place. you get one shot at this be careful.

Just figured I'd give everyone an update. The contact cement fixed up the center channel right quick, and I got my new driver from polk monday and put it in, everything sounds great again!! Thanks for all the help! This place is great.
