New Front speakers for RM85 set? 5.1 to 7.1

Good afternoon,

My current setup is the Polk RM85 five piece set (RM8s up front and RM7s in back) along with the PSW505 sub, all going through a Pioneer vsx-1021. After visitng some friends this holiday and listening to their HT setups, I realize that mine seems to be lacking. For lack of a better explanation my setup doesn't seem to have the throaty/deep immersive noises/voices that I heard, particularly during football games.

I'm relatively new to the home theater world, but my assumption is that what I'm hearing is because the 95hz frequency isn't low enough. I set the crossover accordingly, but the subwoofer doesn't seem to blend all that well. I was thinking of getting new front speakers to help with the mid-range, and moving my current RM8s to surround speakers. I'm not really trying to upgrade my center channel at the moment; are there any recommended standing or bookshelf speakers that can help me accompish this? I'd say listening is 45% movies, 45% games, 10% music, in a relatively large open room.

Thanks
