I am trying to decide what main speakers to choose from. I am looking at the RT3000p or the RT2000p or the new corresponding model numbers.

My equipment that I have now consists of the :
CENTER = CS1000p
MAINS = FX1000
SURROUNDS = monitor series 2
SUB = PSW650

Money is kind of an issue, but I want more bang for the buck, if you know what I mean!
System Includes:
Yamaha Rx-V1
Carver TFM- 42 on the Mains
Carver M4.0t on Center
Toshiba SD-3109 DVD Player
Mitsubishi S-VHS Player
Toshiba 43in Television
MAINS- Polk Audio RT-55i
CENTER- Polk Audio CS1000p
SURROUNDS- Polk Audio FX-1000
SUBWOOFER- Polk Audio PSW-650
Nordost Silver Coax digital cable
Audioquest Type 4 Bi-Wired

Wanting:
RT-3000p: Please send email if wanting to sell!
Fx-1000
CS-400i

    You're using f/x 1000 speakers for your mains??? Why? Those are surround speakers!

    I know I know. The FX1000 are surrounds! But they do have a decent frequency range and there is a dipole /bipole switch. So when you runn them in bipole mode they sound pretty good. I no not as good as the speaker I want but they are better than the monitor 2!

    f/x's for mains? I thought that was a misprint at first, too!

    Considering the other speakers you've got, I say go for the 3000's. What kind of amp(s) or receiver are you using?

    I'm just surprised, I guess. I mean, the f/x 1000's are a serious chunk of change at $1000/pair. I figured for that kind of money you'd get RT800's or RT1000's. With the other speakers you have, you'd be doing yourself an injustice by getting anything less than the RT3000. That will be a totally rocking system. I know they aren't exactly cheap, but you should be able to pick them up at some pretty good sale prices right now.

    i agree, i think you need to go with the 3000's considering all your other speakers...you may want to check around your local CC's for an open box buy or something if price is an issue.
