Plasma's typically reflect more light than other TVs, so if it's a bright area, you might want to think about LED or LCD.

Also, my only personal experience with Samsung is our $1800 TV went out in 13 months and it took me arguing with them for an hour on the phone that they should replace it under warranty. It was a month out of warranty, so I can't say it's a bad thing...but I've heard much better customer service experiences with Panasonic.

budget is $500, is that what you mean by situation?

Reflection is not a problem, the tv I have now is a CRT and it's glass:cheesygrin:

I've done a lot of research on this tv, I don't need internet, wifi, netflix, apps store or any junk, just a 720p or 1080p 40-43". I figure anything would be better than what I have. are there other cut and dry tv's like that? just to watch tv and movies on, I haven't done a ton of digging to be honest. I just read that this one is a very good tv for the price.

never had to deal with their customer service, but what i can say is their tv's have always had the best picture to my eyes, not everyone perceives tv's the same though, but i would take my 720p samsung over my 1080p sony or sharp anyday, no expirience with plasma screens though

also i believe appl had no grounds to sue them as their phone/tablet design was implemented in and taken from mp3 players they had on the market before the first itouch/iphone, which would make apple at fault, not samsung

I would never buy a Samsung TV based on what I've read about their poor quality and terrible customer relations record. Even worse CS ?? That'd be Hewlett Packard, never F'in again, ever !!!

I got the LG today, finally. I'm too stubborn to order it online that's why it took so long. I like it, seems big but I'm sure it's bc I'm not used to it.
