With our son home for the holidays from grad school, we've found some time to go through the record collection at House v.3.0 with an eye towards organizing, culling(!), and continuing the relocation of said vinyl to House v.4.0 :-)

Mrs H and I spent some time over the weekend schlepping and organizing some stuff (including another bolus of the aforesaid 'vinyls') up at the new house. I actually managed to find time - finally - to hook up a phono preamp (my trusty old Bottlehead Seduction) and a tt (my $7 charity fleamarket find b&o TX-2 equipped with a b&o MMC-4 cartridge) and even spin a few tunes. The Seduction is, unfortunately, a bit short on gain (and the Dynaco SCA-35 currently on-line at the new house has only a passive line-level "preamp" section)... but all did sound very nice in the new room.

Brought tears to my eyes, in fact.

If any of youse guys doubt that horn-loaded drivers are incapable of "imaging"... you've gotta come by sometime soon and give a listen :-)

I am guessing he is referring to the twin power HK. Second shelf up on the left.

I doubt that horn loaded speakers can image, so I will be by this afternoon for a late lunch and a few brews. What are we having?

Nice setup, nothing beats a good day of tinkering and tunes.

The hk430 and the hk690i are both twin power (although the latter has dual secondary windings on a single power transformer, rather than completely dual power transformers as did the 430). Both nice receivers (the 430 I have was a freebie and it does work, but it 'needs tlc', as they say).

Make it next weekend, and we can pop open a home brew or two - I am part of a small brewing consortium with some friends in the vicinity Hv3.0).

    Nice rig.

    That Yamaha tuner looks familiar.

It's a CT-1010; good sounding and fairly good performing solid state tuner.
    It came from DaveMuell :-)

I kinda noticed there was more than one on that shelf! Very nice Mark. I'm running my HK 430/Dynaco A25s today with a lowly Realistic LAB 290. First some college FM. Then a little afternoon vinyl with tea and scones!

    Enjoy!

it is a tea 'n' scones kind of day in New England today (bright and cold, at least in MA)!
Having clotted cream/Devonshire cream with those scones? :-)

mmm - congealed milk fat! :-)

In the absence of clotted cream... raspberry preserves is the way to go (in my hardly-humble opinion)... or, in the perfect world, both.
