I am constantly trying to figure out ways to tweak my system. As a typical rabbit hole junkie nothing fills the void for me.
Lately, I have had many different people at my house and without even showing the system off with good stuff, I have people tripping out on it. They all seem to act like its the first time they have heard surround sound! All i can think is its okay...:wink:but they act like their at a freaking IMAX:eek::cool:

Any other have experiences like this?

I get a joy out of it when they ask what kind of sub I am running (when showing off movies). Then the suprise look when when I tell them it is off. Nothing like RTi's on an external amp.

I was told once that my home theater is not 'loud enough', and that one of my friends just bought a '1000 Watt' system for 500 bucks, so I wasted all my money.

The most common compliment I get from non audio nuts, is How "clean and clear" my system sounds--they are just mesmerized by the lack of distortion at higher levels.

Thanks for asking! Looks like I built another 'warm' system with these cables being a part of it. :)

While throwing a pool party a few years back, I put on the Eagles Live in Melbourne dvd for those that wanted to watch it inside. I showed one of my friends that knows a bit about mid-fi systems how to adjust the volume, and when I went back outside, I noticed the volume inside ramped up a bit.

After a while, I noticed the numbers outside were dwindling. It seems they were more interested in watching the Eagles live. One of the group who had never seen the Eagles looked at me and stated they had just seen an Eagles concert, and another wanted to know how much would it cost to duplicate my system.

I said thanks (to the Eagles concert compliment) and to the other, how many thousands did they want to spend.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

My sister, BIGGEST PHIL COLLINS FAN ON EARTH had several cheap HT systems she was going to sell in a garage sale.
1 system was coaxial 6 1/2" Insignia home speakers, Paradigm PDR 10 pwrdsub, Kenwood 105w receiver, and Phillips 24/96 dvd player.

I knew about selling them so I took some Nordost speaker cables, made a Straightwire silver digital cable and took a modded Furman AC215 over there.
Hooked them up in her garage, and she would not sell that system then!

I thought she was going to spend the night out there listening to Phil.

We had some pretty good jams getting ready for the garage sale.

    She still has that system!

PS: She made a believer out of me also, check out Phil's son's band, killer!
