PSW 50 Sub Hook up Problem

Trying to hook up my sub to my Yamaha Receiver: Problem: No music from sub. My method: Monster cable is connected to the receiver Subwoofer Speaker output and into the sub R and L using a Monster cable splitter for the L & R. I do get a "humm sound" when I touch the speaker plug to the sub output but when I insert the plugs - no music??? Symptom of a bad cable?

    Hello emojay,
    Welcome to Polk's forum. Try going into the receiver's setup instructions and making sure the "sub-out" function is "on". This is usually a menu choice covered in the owner's manual.
