Loved the specs on this speaker to use as my fronts so I ordered them and to my surprise the woofers are 5.5" not 6.5". Which one should it be ?

Are you measuring to the edge of the rubber surrounds?

There is 6 screws that hold each woofer in place. From centre to centre of the screw on either side of the woofer is 6.5". I hope Polk is not calling that the size.

I wouldn't think so. I went measured my drivers. My mids are spec'd at 5.5 and actually measure 5.25. My woofs are spec'd at 7" and actually measure 6.75 and that's the actual driver not the mounting bracket.

I'd get ahold of Polk and just ask. Of course tact is everything, there must be a logical explanation in it somewhere.

6.5" is the dia of the entire driver assembly. They're all like that.

That would explain the 6.5" from centre to centre of the mounting screws. THANKS, I did not know that & will take that into consideration the next time.

Hey, so i emailed Polk and they responded to measure the 'basket' of the driver. And it measures to 6 1/2".
