Spiking 2Bs

I am spiking my 2Bs right now with 1 3/8" Dayton brass spikes. I removed the bottom riser and will be drilling soon (as soon as my battery charges). Should I put these right in the carpet, or use the cups too. I have an 18" x 18" x 1" piece of oak to put them on, but would rather just put in carpet for WAF. Any thoughts? Will it sound pretty much the same either way?

Unless you are spiking the wood block I would just go straight to the carpet- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Cool...not spiking the wood, just the speakers. Thanks Trey. -
I concur, spikes thru the carpet.Political Correctness'.........defined

I have noticed a tighter bass response, especially at lower volumes. Glad I did it! -

I believe the cups that come with those are for "nice" hardwood floors and such. Make sure you hang onto them though, I lost most of mine in a move when I didn't use them, then once I had a need for them...Remember, when you're running from something, you're running to something...-me
