So I recently got my system setup and I am kind of disappointed. I am hoping a good amplifier can turn this into a smile. My current setups is a pioneer sc-1222k receiver, 2rti12s, csi a6, 2fxi a6, and a psw505 subwoofer. I'm looking for more bass/better sound.

What amplifier/power conditioner would you recommend?

I would like to ideally run an amp to all five speakers to get most out of each speaker? Do subwoofers already have amps built in?

A Pioneer Elite SC series AVR and a better sub like the DSW Pro 660 will get you fixed up.

I was hoping to keep my current receiver and just upgrade to a nice amp. I have heard a lot about the xpa 5. Would I be able to hook up all 5 of my speakers to this amp? If so, would i even want too?

If not, what would be a better option to allow me to get 400-450 watts to each rti12 and then maybe a second amplifier for the center and two rears?

You don't need anywhere close to that wattage. Besides, watts mean little when it comes to sound quality.

In my HT rig I use a Pioneer Elite SC-37 driving RTi A7's, a CSi A6 and FXi A6's with a DSW Pro 660wi. The Pioneer is more than up for the task. The sub crossover is set to 80Hz, yours should be too.

    Most do these days.

    1. Furman or Monste
    2. nearly all subwoofers are now powered; but vintage subs were not.
