wow... after upgrading my mains from R20's to RTi70s a month or two ago, the R20's have been in the closet collecting dust.

well tonight, i got some free time and hooked them up in my bedroom replacing a very decent 6~7 year old Aiwa home theater in a box mains. AMAZING how good the R20's sound in comparison. for the first year after i bought the R20's I was almost ashamed to post here because it seemed everyone thought so lowly of the R20's, but I have to say they sound excellent for the price and are probably better than what most of the general population uses for home speakers. I hope there are not other people who felt as I did before. Plain old R series owners have nothing to be ashamed of in my book.

I concur 100%. I am doing the R setup for HT 40's, 15's for surround and CSi20 for center. There should be no shame for posting here. Nothing wrong with appreciating good, entry-level gear and wanting to learn more.

I recently gave my youngest brother my "Old" bedroom 2-channel rig that consisted of 2 r40's and a Yamaha RXV-595a receiver. I thought the gear sounded incredible for the low price I paid for the speakers. He was quite surprised as well considering the size.

I agree, nothing wrong with the R line, except for one thing....that CSi20 center channel. The R30 and R40 are real nice sounding towers for the money. Polk really has this bracket held tightly, IMO.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Right on!

I also have R30's for mains, R20's for left & right surrounds, but I did go with the CSi30 for front & rear center (6.1).

Don't think that you have to pay alot of money just to get good sound. Compare polks "Entry Level" speakers to something like Sony speakers. HA! Sony speakers are crap!

I like to compare Polk Entry level speakers to a BMW 3 series, an "Entry Level" BMW. I think you get my point.
