Surroundbar 6000
So my sweetie wants to buy me the 6k model as the cheapest we've seen it up here is on sale for just under 500. I've wanted one of these since selling our home theater earlier this year. My concern is a couple of issues so I'm hoping some owners will chime in.
I understand the unit has 3 inputs for sound. I know these are digital and can run digital from the TV out to the bar and everything through the TV but it is my understanding that my TV along with many other only outputs 2 channel audio from the digital output of the TV. I still need to double check what my Sharp does for sure.
How have some of you integrated one of these into your setup and how did you wire your components to the unit? I'll be hooking up a cable box, PS3, Wii and x-box (Currently disconnected). The purpose of this investment is to improve from the TV speakers. It's been months since we have watched a movie.
Ideally a AVR and 5.1 setup would be ideal but space is tight at the front end with my 2 -channel setup taking up most of the available space. Also with what I have read, the 6k seems to be the best model next to the new 9k model. But those aren't for sale here.

So it appears my Sharp outputs PCM via the digital output. However I could have sworn it only does 2-channel PCM out... Gosh I miss the simplicity of having a AVR for everything. Maybe I'm paranoid for nothing and all will work fine.

Never got anything from you?It was on sale here at polk for $399 a couple weeks ago.
Don't want to wait for the 9000?
Unfortunately Canada gets the shafts. Retail is $799 here so a sale price of $488 is the best we'll get.
The 9k isn't available up here from any retailer's. In addition, it's far out of my sweeties price range I'm sure.
Anyone else own one? -
