What are you planning for Christmas Dinner?

Thanksgiving was Turkey.

For Christmas - I'm doing up a prime 4-bone rib roast.

Sides will be mashed potatoes w/ scratch gravy from the pan drippings, brussel sprouts, homemade biscuits, and a choice cabernet.

Seems like others I've talked to at work are doing the same.

Can't wait for the house to start filling with that delicious aroma of the yummy roast!

What do you have planned?

I know I'll leave something out but here goes.

Stuffed shells....with Riccota and proscuitto in a meat sauce.
Seafood pasta...homemade pasta in a spicey red sauce with clams, calamari, shrimp, scallops
My pot....which means my special sauce simmered for 8 hours with sausage, meatballs, lamb chops, ribs
    Ceviche...talapia, grouper, halibut....in a lemon/lime/cilantro/hot peppers sauce.
Sweet potato mashed with garlic and a honey and nut crust on top.
Meat tray with all the good italian lunch meats, homemade roasted red peppers
Various cheese trays, you name it, it's on there.
    Various salads
Various desserts, with one being a flourless chocolate cake, drizzled with hot melted chocolate and pomegranite seeds on top.
Various amounts of cookies, candy, cupcakes, rice krispy treats made into a decorated xmas tree, homemade pumpkin pie and cheesecakes, toffy, lemon bars, brownies, geez man, thats not even the half of that.

Sides of veggies for dinner, I dunno, my sisters are in charge of that along with some appetizers to boot. As long as they don't show up with turnip greens, I'm down with it. Of course booze too and you won't find a bad glass of wine in my house. Probably left some things out, but hey at my age, I'm allowed.

Crap man, leftovers ? I'll be lucky to get some myself. You know how it goes, when your the host your busy making sure everyone has what they need. By the time you sit your butt down to eat, it's practically all gone. With my family, I'll be surprised the TV is still there when they all leave.

Chineese.....JK. Mom is serving a Honey Baked Ham with candied sweet potatos, baconized green beans, rolls and shrimp cocktail, I think. The wife is gonna make a big pot of White Chicken Chili, macaroni salad, and the best twice baked potatos you ever had!

I think I'll invite myself to tonyb's chowdown, although Mr. Sal's zombie-fest certainly would be different !:smile:

Unfortunately, some of us have to work Christmas, so I'll probably be dining on the last of the Twinkies and some milk (whole, with Ovaltine !).

Chicken Cacciatore tonite at home, no idea what'll be served at dinner tomorrow, at my brother in law's house. I's good to be a guest for a change, pie, case of Yeungling & a box o' wine is the extent of my obligations this year.
