The comic book playback is a really cool add-on as you listen to the music tell the story as well.. This is by far the coolest audio disc that I have purchased in quite some time..

Yes, Rush really respect their fans and treat them well. They have put out a lot of nice things lately - DVDs, Cds, etc. I saw them 2X at Saratoga Springs (NY) in the past 3 years and they are as strong as ever! It is about time the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame recognized them.

I'm waiting a bit to see if HDTracks release the 24-bit like they did with Moving Pictures.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I didn't care for the Moving Pictures on BD - too bright/brash for my tastes (and I like 'detail').

How does the 2112 BD compare to Moving Pictures?

I figured they may put that out as well but if you do not get the accompanying graphics you are really losing out.I recommend you go BluRay all the way.

That price is for the super deluxe version. There are a couple of just deluxe versions, one will have the blu-ray and a cd for around $26.

I've never had a player that could play both formats or both types of players in the same system at the same time so it's hard for me to make an apples to apples comparison. They both sound great though. I played the DVD-A version agian last night and it sounds wonderful.

I picked it up this morning and just gave it a first listen, very well done. I really like the surround mix, I listened to the whole thing in the DTS MA track and it is superb. I would love to have a digital copy of the hi rez stereo track though as well.

I got my copy at Best Buy of all places, paid $27 so it wasn't cheap.

By the way, can anyone tell me what the difference between the PCM and DTS MA surround tracks is???

I'm confused?! I'm reading a bunch of reviews over at Amazon, stating that the surround effect is pretty much non-existent. But they also said there was some issue with Sony BDP's with this cd as well, so I don't know if the two are connected.
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

You might think the pcm and dts tracks would be very close, but I'd say not. The dts on the blu-ray just buries the pcm track IMO. More depth, more kick, surround seems better. I can't speak for the cd (I have it in my car, for what that's worth) but sonically, it's one of the best blu-ray music discs I have, and I've got lots.

Picked this up used at Disc Replay. Nicely done, and the surround seemed to be present and done well when playing the DTS audio. I liked the comic book! The only thing is that Geddy Lee is a little overpowering anyhow, and even more so on the BD audio. I enjoyed it, however my favorite Rush albums are the ones prior to 2112.
