How are Yamaha NS 1000M speakers? Any comparison to Polk models?

I have heard a lot of good things about Yamaha NS 1000M speakers but have never actualy heard them. I have always had Polk Monitor Series speakers (Monitor 10A, 5A, 7A) and recently picked up a pair of Dahlquist DDQ 10s.

How are the Yamaha NS 1000M speakers?
How do the sound of the Yamahas compare with Polk Monitor 10As, for example, which ar among my favorite speakers of all time?

What would pay a fair price to pay for the Yamahas? I see they get big money on ebay when they show up,
Are they worth a thousand dollars? That is what they seem to go for.

Thanks.

I used to own them and they are the best speakers Yamaha has ever made IMHO. A very wonderful detailed sound but may not please you in the bass department. A sub is recommended. There is a pic of them in the link below with some of the other speakers I have owned in the past.

To me they are worth a grand although I was fortunate enough to get them for less.

It was fun while it lasted. After my wife passed away I sold everything and moved to Arizona for a year. Starting all over again. Being retired now I have a tighter budget.
