Hello folks just bought a set of stands for the unbelievable price of 15 bucks. These are 30lbs EACH and have no shot or sand in them very well made steel. The last owner had put felt over the holes and i had some spare spikes sitting around but when i peeled back the felt boy was I surprised to see these HUGE holes. Right now i have 3/8 carriage bolts just to level and sink into the carpet a little better. Who the heck sells 3/8 spikes? last resort is threaded rod ground down.

Checked my usual places, all I could find was Meniscus Audio's Ultra Points. They are 3/8" thread, but they're sold out right now.Wristwatch--->Crisco

**edit** sold out right now, but doesnt mean you cant call em and see when they will have em in next."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
I've got a bunch from the Meniscus group-buy that I'm not using. IIRC, the group-buy price was $20 for a set of 8. I'm happy to part with a set at that price plus shipping - should fit in a USPS small flat rate box.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I'll have to call them they appear to have 1/4X20 shaft that goes into the other part. Mine are already threaded for 3/8x16tpi. I was hoping to be able to level without having 2 different shafts to play with. Also these have 1.5" tubing and I'm afraid that that first piece might get lost in the tubing.
thanks -
explain the 3 pieces Neil so i can wrap my head around it
20.00 is fair if it works out -

Look at my link, they are not the ones from the group buy and have 3/8 threaded tubing. The group buy ones WONT work as you figured out...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I did look Dan but this is what has me off
A 3/8" threaded insert is included.
I was hoping to do away with any insert as it will just get in the way -

I think thats just telling you they include the spike, the 3/8 rod and a 3/8 threaded insert (i.e. T-Nut) for you to install in the speaker cabinet....... or at least thats how it looks to me as you have 3 pieces..."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." cool Dan was not sure to me it looked like a 1/4x20 that went into the insert. I've tried calling but got an answering machine.

Comes with the spike, the threaded rod, and an insert in case you want to drill into a speaker that doesn't have a threaded hole already. Not sure what the threading is, but I know they work with the Polk CRS+ stands. Pretty sure it's 1/4x20"Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance. -

These are the ones he has, which are 1/4x20. http://meniscusaudio.com/extra-points-p-1292.html
They wont fit without some modifications.
The ones I posted are basically just bigger versions that are 3/8 which is what he needs. However not sure if that 22 bucks is per or for a set of 2 or 4, etc."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Yup, those look just like mine. Never mind...Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

yep called yesterday real nice folks BUT at 22.00 ea. WAY TOO much to spend on spikes. He did confirm that the threaded rod was 3/8. Even if they were cheaper the rounded end would not pierce my carpet as he told me that they were more rounded than sharp.
Guess it's threaded rod then.
unless Rick comes through not in any rush. -

Yeah 22 each is a bit much to spend."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963)
