Check your ss record for accuracy. There will be a huge drain on our S.S benefits as our Parents pass. That said, if I had the option of paying for credits above the 87k mark, there is a huge pool of cash immediatly for this fund. May I remind you that social security is considered regressive.

Never counted on SS benefits anyway. Private retirement plans with monthly benfits plus IRAs, stock options and 401Ks should take pretty good care of my retirement. SS will be a nice extra if it happens (and believe me I have paid in the max for a long time and hope I get something back down the road!). A sad note is that my Dynaco pitchin' older brother has milked the system to the point that he's getting my "would be" SS benefits and borrows enough that my 401k is non-existant.:(Make it Funky!
