I need to replace a Peerless tweeter in one of my Polk Monitor 10A speakers.

Does anyone have a spare or know where I can locate one?

Also, is it ok to replace just one tweeter or do i need to replace both tweeters (other tweeter is fine).

Thanks,

Peter

Do you think it could be something as simple as a blown fuse? There is sound coming from the tweeter and the speaker is working but the sound coming from the tweeter seems much more muted and less lively than the sound coming from the other tweeter. Would a blown fuse sound like that? I thought that if a fuse were blown, there would be no sound coming from tweeter at all.
Also, just to confirm, are you referring to the external fuse? That is the only fuse I am aware of - at the rear lower portion of speaker.

What size fuse does the Polk Monitor 10A have? Where can I buy a new fuse?

    Thank you. I appreciate it.

usually no but I have seen where the thin wire melts at the end and will fall against the side and make sound. Yes the only fuse is outside.
.75 amp fast blow fuse. another thing to look for is slight corrosion on the fuse clips clean them very well insert new fuse and test.

i somehow found the original manual for the Polk Monitor 10As and it says that the correct fuse is a 1 amp fast blow fuse.

good deal some of the SDA's had 1 amp and some of the monitor's had .75 better safe that sorry so I went with the lower value.

THANK YOU!!! I recently bought a complete system off of a guy and there was a set of 10A's. I just got around to hooking them up a few days ago and no tweeters. I didn't even bother to check the fuses because I didn't know that only the tweeters were fused. So after reading this post, I checked them and BINGO! Blown fuses.
