which to buy first

i just ordered a 2.2 channel hk receiver, but havent ordered speakers for it, while i want to get into higher end stuff, im not looking to put one of the thousand or mor dollar systems together, that being said, im looking at speakers, and fry's has 2 rti-8s and a psw-111 for 500, which would also get me another psw111 free,

if i did that i would sell the two psw 111 and buy two 505's, and i have made up my mind that i will for sure get 505's

or should i order two 505's now and a set of bookshelfs such as a monitor 40 or tsi 200 and wait till another deal on some better towers comes along, the way it looks now i will order the two 505s because fry's isnt showing the store in my state as in store pick up avaiable

either way i know in the end i will have a decent set-up, just wondering which route would be advised

    ps, im currently staioned in italy and am ordering this stuff to my dad's house in washington state, and i cant call the local fry's to order it into the store through them, so if my dad can, cool, if not, oh well,

    If you want to get into a higher end 2 channel system avoid the monitor or TSI line. Good for what they are, but definitely not 2 channel speakers.

    If you're ordering the psw505s through newegg (wouldn't they ship to an APO?) they I would suggest perhaps the def tech sm350s or 450s. Not super high end but a nice step up from the entry level polks.

    Or if you really want a great 2 channel system for the money, Just order a pair of LSi7s from Polk's ebay store (or better yet just call them I bet they will ship to you) and leave a sub out for now. HK and LSi7s are a very sweet sounding combo with surprisingly good bass. You will be blwon away compared to the rti4s (which are good speakers and I like them they just don't compare to the LSi).

    i have 550 to spend tops, thats why im looking for an all polk set-up tha tway i can sell the free sub and the smaller speakers to recoop some fund to put towards the larger speakers, i go home july 2014, and they do ship FPO, for 200$

    I got ya. But the LSi7s are only 400, and I personally would rather have those with no sub than something like monitors with a sub, but that's just me.

    Of the other options you have I would go with RTi8s.

    If you don't get out until July, 2014, why don't you wait until then to buy. You can save up some more money and buy better speakers when you get home. Thank you for your service.

    i would too, but theyre not letting me do in-sstore, charge 200 to ship, and i cant call them to see if its just because of my crappy internet connection that im not getting the store to come up

    I think that if you are able to call Polk directly, they will work something out for you.

    i cant call any stateside numbers, my room mate left for the week and switched the internet off, which is in his locked room, im at work on the computer, and am not allowed to use my magic jack here, so calling the states is ouut of the question

    although i would be happy to order some of those LSI's in a couple weeks to a month or two away, im going home in feb for a couple weeks and want to be able to hook it all up and piss off the neighbors

    If you do some LSi-7s in the long run. Consider a NAD integrated! Probably the C326Bee, plenty of power for those and nice bottom end sound from such small (5"+ drivers).

    I would for sure go with the RTI and the 505's!! Stay away from the monitor stuff. You won't be disappointed.

    yeah frys doesnt have the rti available in WA, so getting the 7's next month, think i will just run monoprice for the sub cables, and some canare 4s11 with naks for the speakers, think i will get an Audioquest cinamon for an optical cable to hook up my zune dock, as i dont care for the Arista one that i have

    while i do that i will continue my neverending quest to replace all my mp3's with WMA lossless, so far ive got about 150 tracks replaced
