the rt25s definitely have the old soft dome tweeter that I myself am not a big fan of:

I owned the rt3s, which were the previous version, as well as the rt7 and rt25i which both have the tri-lam tweeter, as well as the rti4s with the Silk/Polymer tweeter, and the tri-lam dome is by far my fav. Most detail without being too harsh or bright like I find the Silk/Polymer. YMMV...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Haven't made any decisions yet. Just gathering data. I need to get the pre and amp first, then the speaker (since I have Monitor 60's right now I can use)"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Seeing about getting some totem dreamcatchers. Lets see what happens.
If not I will keep looking for some vintage."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963)
