Veneer or Wood on SRS SDA's

I alway's here everybody saying their SRS SDA's have wood veneer.I sware mine are solid oak top, bottom,and sides.Can anybody enlighten me please

    Never owned them, but real wood is dimensionally unstable at differnet temps, humidities etc. For this reason I'd say veneer. Maybe really thick 1/4" veneer but veneer none the less.

    Solid oak on top and bottom. Atleast with my SRS 2.3's.

    The end caps are solid wood, but the sides are a type of pressboard, very cheap.

    I remounted the side panels on my SDA's and was pretty suprised that it wasn't real wood. It feels more substantial and harder when mounted.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Robert,

    The top and bottom are solid oak or walnut, the edge of the top and bottom are veneer and the side strip is solid wood. On the early models the top and bottom were glued up boards (solid wood), but on later models it's one wide solid piece of wood. The only veneer on any of them is the edge banding. Should you ever need to remove them, they are held in place by 4 bolts accessed by removing the top drivers and the bottom PR. As Doro stated, the cloth covered side panels are some kind of pressboard and can break easily if you need to remove them. No problem really as they can be replaced by the right size and thickness of MDF.
