has anyone heard of, or had any experience with the above power amp? thanks.

    You mean Alesis. That is a proamp. Alesis makes some good stuff. I've used a few of their power amps in my guitar rack before. Very reliable. But not something I would use for home audio, unless perhaps to power some subs. That is just my opinion though.

    i have to ask "why," gary. is it possible to use with an audio preamp? i'm asking cause i don't know. sucker looks pretty unconventional

    It may do well for you. I am just saying from my experience with a Tubeworks pro amp and a Peavey pro amp. I did not care for the results at all. Great guitar power amps though.

    thanks, gary. i respect your input. i'm not even sure why i was looking at it--i am very happy with what i have. i did pick up the kenwood c1 preamp to use while i'm fooling around with the hafler, and this puppy is REALLY nice!! the hafler seems to have a bit more "presence," if that makes sense. subjective term. thanks again.
