Looking for a receiver, with 11.2 pre-outs.

I'm looking to upgrade my receiver so that I can have the ability to add a full 7.2 system with Front High and Front Wide speakers (not either/or).
I'm not worried with how many channels the receiver powers, since I plan to pair this with an Emotiva XPA-5 or another amp.
This has made my search difficult because I've found that some receivers are advertised as 9.2 but support 11.2 outs. I think I've even seen 7.2 receivers support 11.2 channels, they only power 7 channels at a time though.
My only other requirement is I would like to connect to it with an Android phone...
Any suggestions?

I guess I'm putting out feelers to see what this will run me first.
I've found some for <$2,000. The SC-1522-K runs $1599 but is on sale, and seems to do 9.2 but has 11.2 preouts. I'm trying to open the manual now and find if they can all be activeReceiver: Pioneer VSX-1021-K

Nice, that's what I'm looking to hear. That led me to find this for $898.25 http://www.era2k.com/products/Yamaha-RX%252dA3010BL-9.2%252dChannel-Network-AV-Receiver-%252d%252d-0O0056TWYWL99.html

That's one hell of a price! I think you'll be hard pressed to find anything of the Yammie's quality at that price point. You will need an amp to take advantage of it's 11 channel capabilities. I see that you will have that covered by what I read in your initial post. It really is one hell of an AVR that will not dissapoint."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.

Is that a legit site? Looks very suspicious...
If it is legit that is a great price on what looks to be an awesome receiver...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

I'll be honest, I feel it's too good to be true too. Checking which of my credit cards would be best to use incase I don't get anything so I can backcharge...

Assuming it is a fake site, this Denon AVR-4311CI seems like it would work: $1,199

The tip off to a fake site is to use their own search function for the product listed. Theirs didn't yield any results for Yamaha or the model number. -
I have the Denon and Very Happy with it.

Looks like a bogus site to me. First, they don't list a physical address anywhere on the site. Big red flag to me. Second, they are not listed on resellerratings.com. Third, a quick google search of www.era2k.com returns nothing but other people also questioning if the site is legit & complaints about no shipping confirmation or reception of merchandise.
STAY AWAY! -
era2k doesn't show up on resellerratings.com so I would be hesitant to do business with them even if your chargeback options protect you.

Good call,xantonin.
Just checking out their website, and got curious about return policies, etc.

Notice on the left-hand side of the page: "Popular Brands" ?
Listed are:
ASICS
Dockers
Klogs
New Balance
Teva
Speedo
Capezio
Thorogood
PUMA
Salomon
THAT certainly doesn't bode well, certainly not a sign, IMO, of an outfit that's used to dealing with higher end gear.
Speedos ?
And I'm not sure if this is the location of the sites IP provider, or their physical address but:
Either way, that's in the middle of bumtruck Egypt. You could probably see Sarah Palin from there. :loneranger:
If that were a legit deal, it would be one heck of a deal. Not saying it's not, but the possibility of having to return a defective unit would be pretty frightening. UPS may be bad, but UYS is probably worse. (United Yak Service).
Not beating a dead horse, but as others have mentioned and you have, too ... DON'T.

I'm going to use this to keep track of my research.. found this also, 11.2 pre-out receiver:

The Yamaha is weirding me out. I am going through the manual and it keeps referring to the other channels as Rear Presence and Front Presence, instead of the Front Wide/Front High. It might not be doing the processing I am looking for.
Checking out the Pioneer series now. The SC-67 is selling for $1,400 as well. Trying to compare it..Receiver: Pioneer VSX-1021-K

Different names that's all. I keep hoping Yamaha or Pioneer Elite would make a 11.2 pre/pro stand alone unit, but maybe those days are over for them.

No; Yamaha's DSP "presence" modes don't operate in the same way that the surround expansion modes from Dolby PLIIz, AudysseyDSX, or DTS Neo:X do. Yamaha adds content not present in the source material, largely of a reverberation nature, to create what is believed to be a pleasant effect, and individual users may or may not consider it to be so. The others which have front width and/or height modes extract content already present in the source material and direct it to speakers in a way believed to create a more realistic listening experience.
If front width or height speakers are wanted, the first requirement is that the receiver have one or more of the Dolby, Audyssey or DTS features that provide for them. Then, the number of pre-outs available determines how many of the surround modes can be used simultaneously. -

I stand corrected. Similar yet different in their approach. Yamaha DSP creates ambience in their front & rear presence channels. The Dolby version extracts ambience for their effect. Both are very good & I can speak very highly of how well Yamaha DSP creates a very believable sound scape."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -
I think it's between the Onkyo TX-NR3010 and the Pioneer Elite SC-67.
