I'd like to know if I'm better off buying a set of bookshelf speakers RTI4s or RTi6s to timbre match my system since I have the CSI5 already or should I just stay with TSI400s for the mains. I can't break the bank right now for RTI12's(and new receiver with pre outs) but I can definitely afford one of those bookshelf's mentioned above.

I've read that timbre matching is important so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Current setup include the following:

CSI5
TSI400 mains
TS15's surrounds
PSW505

Denon AVR1913
Front- RTI A7,(powered by ADCOM GFA 5500)
Center- CSI5,
Surrounds- RTI 6 and Rear Surrounds- TS 15.
TV-Panasonic P55ST50
SUB-SVS PB10-NSD and PSW505
Receiver- Yamaha Aventage RX-A2000

So you recommend I go with RTI6s? Or stick to what I currently have?

I think he's suggesting that you stay with the TSI-400s and the CSi center for now. And I'd agree, when you have the money you can upgrade to Rti towers and everything else. But timbre matching, though, important, is not the end of the world. And those two series are NOT a night and day difference from each other.

he's recommending them, trust me, just hooked up my 4's, and wow, awesome performance in HT, cant wait till my
CSI3 gets here next week, or you could sell the tsi to fund the purchase of some 12's, frys has them in a pair with a 300 watt 8 inch sub for 750, a sub which you could leave new in box and sell to further fund that purchase of the twelves

You're right, my bad! Should have looked at that post more carefully. I guess what I was thinking is, that in my experience it won't make that much of a difference in sound quality as the 400s are a tower and reach lower while the Rti-6s have a slightly more detailed high end, only. In fact I've compared the Rti-A3s in my system to Energy RC-10s and the 10s take the Polks out. I'm also, currently running some B.A. A100s in place of the Rti-A3s below for similar reasons (the old school towers trump the newer Rti bookies, IMO).

Good advice, either way. I say, get your "ears" on this stuff and don't just go by what "we" think!

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll stay with the TSI400s until the checkbook opens up some more and I'm able to get some RTI10s or higher. I am happy with my current setup but I'm curious as to how my system will sound once everything is timbre matched. My main goal is to achieve clarity that I'm more than satisfied with and right now I"m just satisfied. However, patience is a virtue so I will hold off and save.

I can get a really good deal on the RTI6s right now. If the main purpose of my setup is HT should I replace my TSI400s with the RTI6s? I have a sub so the bass is taken care of. I want really clear and clean sound and I already have the CSI5.

    Thanks
