choosing a receiver

Hi, new here. Looking for a receiver to go with speakers, trying to find something less than $500 if possible

    Fysh, welcome to Club Polk. An outstanding buy for under $500 is the factory refurbished Onkyo 709 at Accessories4less for about $450. This has very complete features, including the Audyssey MultEQ XT auto-calibration and room equalization system, and more than sufficient maximum power available for nearly all home audio setups. Factory refurbished units are carefully checked and, if anything, should be even more trouble free than a brand-new unit.

    Okay, I see now that an even better buy on the 709 is available through 12/16 from Shop Onkyo. There's a 25% off sale, which makes the net price, including shipping, $374. Then, if you register for "Club Onkyo" you get a $10 credit, which would make it $364.
