Nuforce Icon HD - Price: $195 shipped
The Nuforce Icon HD is a USB DAC that can be used as a DAC+Pre or has a high current headphone amplifier built in to make it a DAC + Headphone amp. The HD outputs 24/96 I2S to the same DAC as Nuforce uses with their higher end players. The output from the DAC feeds a set of variable analog outputs as well as their high current headphone amplifier on the front of the unit. When headphones are connected the analog out is muted. All of this comes in a tiny package, the HD is only 6 x 4.5 x 1.
This is the little brother to the Nuforce Icon HDP, with the only difference being the HD can only be used via USB.
Condition:
I am the second owner and this is in mostly good condition. I did find a couple small nicks that I did not notice before. The faceplate is clean but there are a couple imperfections on the top plate. See pics on Flickr for details.
Terms:
Accepting Paypal Gift, Paypal, or USPS money order. I do not have the original box so this will be shipped double boxed. It will include a power cord and short USB cable. I have additional feedback on Audiogon. For sale in the US only.

Thinking about it.
If your looking for a solid DAC for computer use on the cheap, here you go. Also comes with a very nice headphone amp to boot.
If you wanna get your read on theres not alot on the HD, but the HDP is the same internally just w/ more inputs. That was reviewed very favorably by 6moons and Secrets. -
Confused and could you please clarify for me. The links you posted are for the model HDP. Your DAC says HP- on the back and has no digital inputs except for the USB. Couldn't find the specific until on the manufacturers site.Polk Monitor 7
Polk Atrium 55 -
I currently have the NuForce uDAC. Thinking about moving up to a powered unit.

bigyank, the HDP and the HD are the same, the only difference is the HDP has additional inputs. The HD was a short lives product (apparently) as it is no longer on Nuforce's site. I posted links for the HDP because it was reviewed a few places, and I can't seem to find much in the way of reviews for the HD. The specs for the HD are the same as the HDP, if you disregard the parts about switching inputs.I currently have the NuForce uDAC. Thinking about moving up to a powered unit.
From what I have read about the uDAC the HD should be a step up for both the DAC and especially the headphone amp. The uDAC-2 is supposed to be closer, but still not as good as the HD. -
For what it's worth, I have the older Nuforce Icon and really like it for my computer-based listening.. super small footprint and gets the job done well..
