Why is it our audio is more enjoyable after a few drinks? Does it really sound better or is my senses just numbed(beer goggles) or perhaps fine tuned? Did the alcohol raise my change my body temperature, blood pressure, or thin my blood just enough to make my ear drums function to a higher level?

Do our ears adjust to frequency's like our eyes do to light? Does your audio equipment sound better the longer you sit and listen(alcohol aside)? I think sometimes our brains/ears naturally level out frequency's. Ever just click off the EQ halfway thru a track and think holy smokes thats bad, then 30's seconds later you think sounds good? Why do we keep turning up the volume the longer we listen?

Is our sound reception affected by atmospheric conditions? We've all messed EQ's, placement, cables etc. But would't what we hear change with humidity, barometric pressure, air density, temperature? Does wet air dampen any given frequency? Or drier air sound cleaner and more crisp? Does the air pressure change the drivers ability move air or our ears ability to receive it? Will your gear sound the same on the coast at sea-level as it would in the mountains? Can the cycle of the moon have any affect on the magnetic intensity of our drivers?
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Why ask why? If it sounds better to you, so be it. Personally, I prefer all my senses intact during listening sessions.
If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

I hear a great deal more detail in recorded music......... if, on occasion........ I do what Willie is famous for doing. Some added beer or wine just mellows everything out and takes the edge off a little.

Marijuana definitely changes the way you listen to music. Add some Beer and well.....
However, even straight as arrow I do think our ears "tune" in on the music and it sounds better after a few songs. This is definitely something I have thought about.
    Who knows exactly why?
I got static in my head
    The reflected sound of everything
