Hello:

So for some time I have been thinking of getting another set of main's for stereo listening only. Have RTi12s and love them. Took a look at some SDA's lately but the finish on the cabinets was not good and not sure if my amps are common ground (but I will find out for sure).

Now came across on this one's, but not sure if the price is right for them. I have always like the way they look.

I dont know if that is a good price. Its seems a little "HIGH" ??

Anyone who sells something for "$420" is most likely a pot head. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I own these speakers. They are coherent that is for sure, however I paid 100 bucks or so but not nearly in the condition. normally I see around 200-250 in good condition.

They have a lot of high end to them, and I found to be very bright but a different sound than other speakers. They do not have really any low bass. They have bass, but not really anything that digs super low and I would recommend pair with a sub if you are seeking a bass response like the RTi12's (I've owned the 9's and driven both in the same room etc).

Fun speaker and image really well. The room size is important for these and there was a discussion awhile back on Agon about placement for these in their forums.

    My thoughts exactly.

I remember hearing Thiels way back when I was auditioning speakers when I bought my first SDA's in 1989. My impression of them was that they are incredible for classical music. Image well is an understatement. Properly set up and powered, you can pinpoint every individual instrument in an orchestra. It was mind-blowing. But I wouldn't recommend them for pop, though.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
