Do these belong to a Polkie? http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLK-AUDIO-RT-5000-5-speaker-surround-sound-CS1000p-RT3000p-f-x1000-manual-incl-/170950328259?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item27cd6effc3
If not they should. I would love to hear these modded/upgraded and see how they compare to the big SDA's.

I just carried a set to my basement and put some modded lsi9's in place for a change. The powered subs make them a totally different sound than the SDA. Very fun for home theater bass tho!

He asked if they belonged to a Polkie, not if the speakers were a Polk product.

This system was listed on e bay a couple months ago. And if i can remember correctly. It sold for around $1500- $1700. I wonder why it's up for sale again. Guess the seller or whoever won the bid had a change of heart. ( or did'nt have the $$$$ for freight)....

Just found this thread, i've been emailing the seller discussing a possible trade since he's only a few hours from me. It would be straight up for my Rti12's, Csi5 and Fxi3's. Does anyone have any input on it or advice? I've always wanted to own a complete 5000 set, and we're still discussing details and if it will even happen but I could really use some input on if it's a good trade. Thanks!

I would PM DSkip. I think hes run a RT setup at one point and might be able to give you some thoughts on em.

I'll give my input as a former owner of said system. I wouldn't. Why ? While it is a nice system, don't expect to be blown away over what you have now. The 12's are every bit as good if not better in some areas. Plus those built in amps on the 3000p's, good luck finding replacements, not available anymore and they are at the age of going south if they haven't already. Just my .02

Thanks for the input, the amps were my #1 concern with them given the age of the set. They're also 3.5 hours away so i'd be a long wasted day if I got there and didn't like them. I'm happy with my Rti12's as it is, but i'm always keeping my eyes out for something new and i'd always wanted to try a full 5000p set.

those look cool. We dig the RT2000i's in our living room, but love the SDA 1B's in the bedroom.

The RT's have a smoother presentation over the RTI line, but the RTI line has more detail, dynamics, and better defined bass notes, especially the mids. The RT's for me are easier to listen to over longer periods but the lack of detail in the music will get old quick. This is why with the RTI line, as detailed and forward as they are on music, we suggest warmer sounding associated gear to better your listening experience. Personally, I like the sound of the RT line but it left me wanting to hear more out of the music.
