LSiM 703 / Custom Shelf Position Question

HT almost completed...Walls are starting to be painted and I will be having custom wood shelves made for the LSiM 706c and for my rears 703s.

I was planning on a 20" shelf out from wall. That will give me 5-6 inches or so from the wall. My concern was the port in the back. Is this enough room for them to breathe? Even at 20" these shelves will be sticking out pretty far.

No worries....I guess I will just figure it out on my own...

Took the 703s out of the box yesterday....they are one sweet looking speaker. Got some weight and mass to em as well.

I don't have and haven't heard those, but did you try posting this question in the speaker forum?

Yes...that was my bad. I actually meant to hit "Speaker" forum...noticed after it posted...oh well.
most people read the diff forums so Im not worried..it already got 40 reads...0 replies.

I just hope the 5-6" will be enough to let the port breathe as well as hook up the cable comfortably. Anyone who has any insight to the 703s and how they sound in regards to wall placement, please chirp in.

    Thanks,

I think you'll be just fine with 6" clearance from the rear wall. As surrounds u could get away with them closer if needed. You have to think most surrounds are mounted directly to the wall. You'll be fine.
