So I bought these speakers for my first step in my first home theater system. Not sure of room size yet as I'm going to be moving within a month or 2. I know a little bit on what to look for in an AVR but still not comfortable yet. What are some Major must haves in AVRs to be great.

Heres the receivers on newegg and when I search I look at the most reviews and top rated. I also was thinking on saying screw it and look for a 7.1-7.2 AVR. which is better? Can I get some options from You about what You think would be a good fit for the speakers I recently bought?? Doesn't have to be with newegg but I've bought everything else from there. I would be greatly appreciated with what you guys suggest.

i was also looking at the anventage series by Yamaha which looks decent but expensive so i was thinking of the RX-A720. i know its the lower version (should i say screw it and maybe go next step up?) but should it do the trick or should i look at something else? I'm looking for opinions on what you think would be nice so links would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the help.

I am driving almost the exact same set up (just a different Polk Sub - PSW110) with a Pioneer VSX-1021-K. Looks like those are heavily discounted by NewEgg from time to time. -

I was wanting a 7.1(2) AVR maybe I can do this instead of upgrading later ifIi want to get more speakers, not sure though so I've decidedIi would just go with a 5.1 AVR but spend around 550$ max maybe 450$-550$. Being I haven't found a new house yet, not sure how big the room is and I only have 5 speakers and probably not getting anymore anytime soon. I would love some links on suggestions that people have that would benefit me greatly. Thank you.

Just because you buy a 7.1/2 or 9.2 doesn't mean you have to fill all speaker channels. No problem at all to run 5.1 off a 9.2 AVR. The problem would be wanting to run a 9.2 set upoff a 5.1 AVR.
Gett all the bells a whistles you think you want, and pre outs, if in your budget.
If you don't want to buy new, check Crutchfield outlet, Best Buy open box, or any other reputable internet retailer. You can find a lot of good buys. -
Pre amps outs is great upgrade later and will save you some cash later.
