Same with the SC-35, they're a great match.

+1 over the Marantz 6007. The Pioneers have a consistant "all channels driven" rating. Not the Marantz. Other members can chime in on the SCs' ability to handle (the RTi A7's*) 4* ohm* load(s).

I use a Pioneer SC-35 for home theatre with RTi10's ( Previous model to the RTiA7 ) RTiA6 center and RTi4 surrounds. I easily get powerful sound without having to push the Receiver close to maximum. And my room is a good size,so you should be ok unless you have a hugh room and like it REALLY LOUD.

I pretty much have your setup and I'm using the Yamaha I have in my sig below with no problems! With the exception that mine are Cherry and White which require less power.

    Where? From studying the XO.

They might be "nominally" 8 ohms, but below 125hz they're 4 ohms.

Last time I checked two 8 ohm impedance paths (IP) in parallel, net 4 ohms, right?! And the low end is tough enough to drive w/out the impedence drop.

For those who thrive on details:
    1. two 4 ohm impedances in series = 8 ohm IP. Connect that IP in series w/a 2nd order LP 125hz filter nets 8 ohms below 125hz
    2. another 8 ohm IP, in series w/a 2nd order LP 2.7Khz filter, ZERO HP filtering, nets 8 ohms below 2.7Khz
Trey (VR3) and a few others that have seen/modded the XO will concur.

IP#1 in parallel w/IP#2 nets 4 ohms below 125hz really challenging low current amp/AVRs particularly those not sporting a 4 ohm spec. So unless you know something I don't or someone can provide hard data that refutes these facts, most AVR owners should either XO 'em @/above 100hz or, dare I say it, passively bi-amp 'em - either will lighten the "load." That doesn't make them 4 ohm loads. To be a rated 4 ohm speaker the majority of the impedance would have to be at or below 4 ohms. Most, if not all speakers have impedance drops lower than their nominal rating. IIRC, at least one of the bigger SDA's drops to 2 ohms at some point, but it is still rated as a nominal 6 ohm speaker.

As for the RTiA7's, I drive mine with a Pioneer Elite SC-37 crossed at 80Hz with no issues whatsoever watching Blu-ray movies and the occasional music video at high volume levels. I've even run them full range for 2 channel music without issue, but what's the point of that when I've got other rigs that are much better for 2 channel.

Per F1, the SC series can!

My Dad bought an SC-65 as well. We're doing some system upgrades this weekend, so I'll get to see how it compares to my SC57. Either way, it'll be a nice upgrade from his Onkyo 707.

Do post your thoughts on the receiver kbob! Congrats.
