Nice when somebody understands the word NO

Just about a year ago, I bought this place. I guess I took out a mortgage on this place. I decided to get a double wide on an acre of land, instead of a house on some small lot. I also wanted to live half way in the middle of no where with no propery/home owners association. I detest those things.

ANyway, this means that home warrenty is about to expire. Made a few repairs here already, and all combined cost less than the $45 they charge to send somebody out. I got a call yesterday from one of the agents/salespeople, and politely declined to renew. The lady suggested that there may be something, like HVAC that I really couldn't repair myself, and a renewal may bring a little peace of mind.

WHen I chuckled, and told her I just finished repairing a furnace, because that's what I do for a living, she started laughing. Her reply was "Damn it, I never get any of you guys to renew."

I just like it when people understand "No".

    I told the wife NO last night, but she didn't listen. If we weren't married I think I would have filed a police report today. :redface:

    Don't blame you for living where you do, it's kinda nice being able to **** without the neighbors hearing it! Anyway the other thing is called commission ,I believe.

    try the street vendors in sicily, they come at you with megaphones spouting half italian half english half indian sales pitch about how you need there worthless junk, yes i know thats three halves btw, and dont go away, i yelled a slurry of obscenities in the face of one man who bothered me at a bad time, and he turned to my girlfriend who was one foot to my right and started bugging her to get me to buy something

    It isn't bad, just have to upgrade things. On the good side, property taxes are a lot less in trailers. A really good thing is that the general consensus is the school gets enough money, so quit asking for more.

    A lot has really changed since I was in the Navy. Was mainly in Asia, but vendors never really bothered us. Course there was the one idiot who jumped in the ring and Thailand. Never saw anybody get beaten that badly, in such a short period ever.

    The do not call list doesn't seem to work anymore. And everybody calling has fake calling
    line ID. I have no tolerance for people calling me with junk. Alarm companies, free cruise,
