I bought a house that had Polk speakers installed already. I need to take the grille of to see which model they are. Don't want to damage them, so hence the question. They look like RT series, they are 22" long, white covers. Liike these.

Hello exp,
Welcome to Polk's website forum. The trick is to use a sharp, pointed pick, ideally a dental pick or a heavy gauge paperclip with the end bent out. The second part of the process is to not pull at any one area but go around the circumference working the grille out in small increments.
But keep in mind, even removing the speaker's grille cover isn't going to give you the model number, you would have to completely remove the speaker to see the model number on the rear of the frame. If all you need is the speaker's model number then carefully measure the dimensions, from outside edge to outside edge and then look at Polk's specifications and the "overall measurements" will tell you which model it is.

Thanks for your answer Ken. Yes, all I need is the model number, so I would know what kind of receiver to buy, and I will also need a center speaker.
Do you mean outside edge of the grille? -
Any hole on the edge of the grill that you can get something in a hole will work.

Rather than trying to remove the grille, just measure from outside edge of frame to opposite outside edge, height and width as carefully as possible. Then let me know and I'll see if I can determine which Polk you have. You don't want to remove the complete speaker if you don't have to.

I measured them and they are 21" x 8 1/2 ".

Hello,
That would mean they are either the LC265i or the TC265i, which measure 20 13/16" high and 8 1/2" wide. Here is a link for the TC265i: http://www.polkaudio.com/products/tc265i and here is the link for the LC265i: http://www.polkaudio.com/products/lc265i
These both sound best with a good quality separate power amplifier up to 200 wpc.
