Hello all, i'm new to the forum but not to forums. This is my first post, though i've been lurking for a while. I just bought a refurbished set of monitors off the polk store, monitor 40s for front, cs1 center, 30s for rears and a psw10.

I just wanted to get you guys opinion on something. The tweeter in my cs1 was doa, and polk is sending me a replacement, meanwhile im using both of my 30s upside down and wired in parallel as a temporary center channel until the cs1 is fixed. The30s are upside down so the tweeters are closer to the tv, they sound great and seem to have better imaging than the cs1 does. The sound seems to be coming more from the center of the screen height wise with the 30s. This is on a 60" tv.

I had been reading about horizontal cabinets like a cs1 sounding worse than vertical cabinets like 30s or 40s. I don't have room for 40s upright under the tv but the 30s fit well.

I'm kinda thinking when i get my cs1 fixed if it sounds worse than the 30s, ill sell off the cs1 and buy2 more 30s for my rears. Seems the vertical cabinets truly do sound better.

What do you guys think of this? Any problems i haven't thought of?

Thanks!
Kenny

    Welcome to the forum.

Having your LCR speakers all M30's is not a bad idea at all. I hear of lots of members using the same speaker across the front and are very happy with it. I wouldn't run upside down as you have them, you may try running all three right side up and see what kind of sound you get.

Why not upside down? Not being smart, I really want to know.
