Analogic Design Group S60 Vacuum Tube Hybrid CD player - $100.

For those not familar with ADG - it was a nameplate Scott Dixon used for his upgraded hybrids. This unit is based on the old Phillips/Magnavox 16 bit players that had a quite a following as far as Mods. (I believe George Grand owns a different modded version of the stock player)

The Mod from Mr. Nixon ran $550 (I've been told) - and that didn't include the cost of the player itself. Scott is currently selling tube-dacs on his website.

The wife is out of town - so you KNOW what I will be playing with tonight. Pics on Tues - she took the Dig Cam with her.

Oh, almost forgot, bagged some clean Boston A-100 2-way floorstanders that need foam for $10.

Today was a good day.

    "myself" is a given. I do that when she IS here too. I MEANT my new toys.

    This player is cool - haven't listen a whole lot - down side it's old(er) and won't do CDR's...but the sound is near breathtaking. So far I've noticed more bass 'weight' in the recordings I'm familar with. It's mated with a tube pre and the SRS's...

    I have a friend that I am doing some work for that has a pair of epi 1200. I may be able to bag em for free. I have not heard them but he says that they sound great. Anyone ever heard a pair before?

    You bag something like that....vintage....modded....Scott Nixon....and you whine about a CD-R.... :rolleyes: :D
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
