I tried using one in a setup to add some reverb to the rear channels to simulate different acoustic spaces and also experimented with the "panorama" mode which is a type of crosstalk cancellation. The unit was fine for surround channels, added ambience etc but I don't think I'd use it for my main speakers. I still have an old cp1+ somewhere in a closet collecting dust. They were pretty pricey new.

Playing with one as a volume control in between my adcom slc505 ( in bypass as a slc) and my parasound 800ll and an shocked as what it has done to the detail and dynamics! Simular to what an outboard DAC did to the sound of my cd's. Not using any of the "effects" but more or less as a active pre, blown away at the step up in detail and i said in dynamics. Need to read more about it and see why. LOL

I might have to pull mine out and see if it has any noticeable effect on the sound... I would have expected adding anything else between your source and speakers would not improve detail of dynamics.

I believe it is just a fantastic pre as is. Using the adcom in bypass has no effect on the sound at all ( sonicly invisable) and have been using the gain controls on the parasound for volume control. So the lexicon must be doing something very good.its quite remarkable actually. As i have the "effects" turned off its not doing anything except "processing" the anolog stereo signal from my cdp.ive had a dozen or so pre's in my main rig and never cared at all for any of them (didnt like tje way they colored the music) except the dared tube pre ( guess i like its color) . This lexicon is surprizing. And dirt cheep.

Those of u that want a remote volume control for your system this is a real cheep way of getting one.that was the primary purpose i got it for, however it offers so much more if u want to use the many adjustments it offers.typical lecicon as to the many paramiters it allows you to control (or not ).and did i say dirt cheep! Havent played with the diff accoustacal adj available yet as i dont really care for "coloring the sound from my sources and this allows this as well.so if a remote is wanted look into this vintage unit. Ivr read a lot of threads or people looking for a way to make their sys remote and this is a great way for less money that building a remote volume control.

So I would like to see what my CP-1 Plus sounds like that's been sitting in the closet for years, but I don't have the remote. I tried to add the device to my logitech harmony remote but the codes aren't complete or correct. Does anyone have an original remote that they could upload the commands from to my logitech harmony account?
