Hum Problem.

I have recently got a Stanton 881s cartridge. I put it on my Micro Seiki DD40 and have hum in left channel. Switched rca cables, no fix. I switched headshells and hum still there. I switch cartridge w/ Stanton 681 and hum gone. So must be cartridge right?? Take 881s to another turntable and hook up. No hum. Hmmmm.??
One difference I can see between cartridges is that the 881s has a little ground tab on the blue connection where the 681 does not. Could that be the problem?? Should I somehow remove the ground tab on the 881s?
I also have isolated the hum coming from the white connection. Only hums when that is connected. However, still no hum at all on other Turntable Pioneer PL 550.
The offending tone arm is a Micro Seiki 505. Fyi preamp is Conrad Johnson PV2
Amp is Conrad Johson MF2200. No hum from any other inputs except phono.
Any ideas??

You may try cleaning the headshell to tone arm connection. Also check the continuity of the cart wires to the headshell pins with a VOM if you have one. Double check the pinout of the cart wires, too. It's a wire connection issue somewhere in the chain.
I have a DD-40 myself, it's good table.>

That ground strap was there for use with plastic headshells. When using a metal headshell, remove the ground if it doesn't know the words and hums.:cheesygrin:Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 *

Thank you, thank you....I'll have to show this to my wife. She says I am full of.......useless information.
I was a young guy, ~24 when this cart was released. Very highly regarded. I feel like I did a few months back. Russman posted a pic of an older nuded cartridge on facebook and I recognized what cartridge it was. :cheesygrin:Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
