which speakers where?

so i have been hard at work ordering speakers to fill out a simple 5.1 with an entry level avr, i shopped round a lot to get good prices from respected brands, i have ordered a csi3 center, rti4 bokks, and b&w rock solid monitors, while i know the polks are timbre matched and pair well with my psw 110, i have heard that the b&w are much more musical and to me, the 2.1 is more important than the 5.1, any advice on which to use for fronts?im also not allowed to hang anything on a wall and ive in a small room with tile floors and concrete walls/ceiling, any advice on the situation would be greatly appreciated, i also havent recieved any of them yet, the rti's have arrived but the fpo isnt open to pick them up till after the holiday weekend, love polk, love the board, you guys are all so helpful to a kid new to the world of home audio,

    also i just ordered a harmon avr254, its only 50w/c but has preouts for all channels, which is why i bought it

    I would recommend the Polks across the front and the B&Ws for surrounds. IMO the Rti4s sound great in a small 2ch setup, and should actually pair quite nicely with that HK receiver.

    Eh. You might be surprised. 50 HK watts go quite a bit further than 50 watts from most other receiver manufacturers.

    cancelled the order on the HK. read too many negative reviews including a few that said there are the pre-outs advertised, on zone 1,2 and sub

    I have a HK 254 (using for garage setup) which is about 6-7 years old. Still works great but it does not have preouts. But I cannot confirm if the newer model does or not

    i cancelled it, i will wait on upgrading the avr for a few months,think i might order dome of the monitor towers off newegg forr 100 and ship them home,

    Probably not a bad move. From my (now somewhat dated) experience with the HK receivers, they usually sounded really good, but were more likely to have issues. I especially thought they mated well with the rti line. For main-stream receivers I would say the Denons, and Maratzs ran a close second, but were far more reliable.

    my problem is im trying to keep it under 500 to get an amp with pre-outs, which just isnt gonna happen, even used the lowest i've found is about 650, also, as im in the barracks and not allowed to hng on walls, i am considering an fx wireless, they have them for about 260 american locally right now

    Where are you located? I picked up an Onkyo HT-RC 370 which has been a great amp. It has pre-outs, 7.2 surround etc. got it on Boxing Day sale for under $470 last year.

    im FPO in sicily, the xchange has yamaha rx-v371 and 571 for receivers, and bose for speakers
