If you use Bi-Amplifation on the SDA SRS 1.2 I assume the crossover in the speaker is not really needed? Is this a correct assumption?

Just Curious!

    Nope.

"REAL" bi-amping--which would not use the OEM crossovers--would use an outboard "active" crossover, the amps would only be fed the appropriate signal for the drivers they were powering. Try that with SDA speakers, and there's no SDA effect unless you somehow incorporated a Carver "hologram generator"--and even that won't deliver the SDA-mimicing signal to the correct drivers.

Then there's the whole issue of how do you properly-power the progressive-point-source multiple tweeter array. I don't see much alternative but to use at least part of the on-board crossover.

Bi-amping with the Polk SDA-series nearly always involves feeding a full-range signal to both the treble drivers and the mid-woofers, and allowing the original crossover to filter out the undesirable frequencies along with providing the SDA signal to the opposite speaker cabinet.
