Maximum length RCA from Subwoofer to Soundbar

I was wondering what the maximum length should be to run an RCA cable from my Polk Audio PSW10 to my Vizio VSB200 Soundbar? I will be buying an RCA Y cable to connect to the line in right and left on the subwoofer. I already have a 12 ft RCA cable. Just curious if that is too long for best sound? Thanks.

I don't think that is too long.
I am from the "shorter is better" camp, but YMMV.

12ft I think is kinda short, you could go 50 and probably never hear a difference. I agree shorter is better. But if you need a longer cable for optimum placement then do it. The audible differences of a poorly placed sub is far greater than inherent signal loss over a long cable. Just my 2 cents.Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. Does the RCA Y cable make any difference? Just curious. I know I could just plug in the RCA cable to either the right or left input.

Go to : http://www.colomar.com/Shavano/audio_cables.html
and read the article
''High resistance will decrease the audio signal. High capacitance will roll off high frequency response and high inductance can alter the tones in various ways, depending on the circuit they are inserted into.''
Take care my friend.
and good listening

Anyone got the PSW10 connected to their soundbar with the RCA Y splitter to sub out? How does it sound?

Good stuff in that article, but we are not discussing high freq. Assuming 120hz or below xover to the sub I cant imagine high freq. rolloff even relevant. Typical subwoofer freq. are very resilient to audible distortion a good example would be the Thd% on subwoofer amps class d can be as much as 10% and may not be audible. Where as a loudspeaker amps are usually at .9% at the highest and this wouldnt be considered acceptable by many. Point being long cables on subs no big deal.Oh, Listen here mister. How about the RCA Y splitter cable to connect the right and left RCA inputs on the Sub? Does that make a difference?

I dont think anything will be gained. just because you are only using one input your still using the whole amp. Spitting your signal into two inputs wont double your voltage therefore output will remain the same. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.Oh, Listen here mister. totally true, jeremymarchinko, you're right, for a sub that's another story
