Looks like Polks continue to find me or vice versa.

Today I got another pair of Monitor 7C's (SL2000 tweeters) along with a NAD 7250 receiver for a good price.
The seller was original owner since the 80's and said that NAD receiver is perfect for these speakers.
Grills have seen cat claws in quite a few places but no holes.
Everything is working but one mid has a small hole/tear on the rubber surrounds, possibly the cat.

If it were just a tear, I could use contact cement and fix it but it's missing a small chunk there.

Can I use a piece of tissue paper or some other flexible material on the back and glue it to plug the hole?
I don't want to replace the whole driver for this small hole.
Thanks for suggestions.

I've done that with an old Polk driver and it's an OK temporary fix (rubber cement and some fine tissue paper, try to match the thickness with a coat or more). I mean it did work and I didn't notice anything wrong, but I'd think about replacing it in the long run. There are some threads around here that talk about how to repair something like this.

I'm sure more will chime in!

    Thanks.

I do have a dead/frozen Polk monitor 4.5 mid driver somewhere so I can cut the surrounds and use it to patch this hole.
That may be the perfect solution as it's the same type of material and thickness.

Try using thin coats with a Q-tip of black RV silicone, the good stuff it was $7 for a 5oz tube.
I fixed a tiny tear that way but there was not a hole so YMMV, look luck.

Liquid electrical tape may work as well. It has a nice little brush applicator, that makes for cleaner work(sometimes)
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. The hole is not that big to cut a rubber in a shape so I used a very small piece of black tissue paper in the back and applied speaker refoam glue both on the back and front.
Seems to hold well. The glue part is little stiff but since the outer roll doesn't have glue, surround still flexes fine during playback.
It's temporary fix until I decide to replace the driver.
BTW, is it possible to remove that rubber surround completely and re-foam?

I also realized how good 7's sound.
