Polkies,
I just want to thank everyone for the posts I have been reading over the past year (I was reading for a while before I joined) and for the advice and responses to my posts. I learned a lot, or at least, I have learned how little I knew before.

My system is poor compared to most of the posters here, but it sounds better than it did a year ago, and hopefully it will sound even better a year from now.

I love the Monitor 7s but would never have given them a chance without this Forum. I upgraded my wires from lamp cord to Knukonceptz and added nanners from them and have some from Sewell on the way. Still not what most would recommend maybe but a lot better than what I had and I can hear a slight difference with the changes made so far. (Please, no wire debates, it's just my opinion and I still only spent about $1 a foot)

Still hoping to get Monitor 10s for my fronts and move the 7s to the back (if I can figure out how to make enough room there).

I really don't forsee a time when I will want to add an external amp, but I wish I had gotten an AVR that I could do that with if I changed my mind. Again, great advice guys. I should have saved up a few more bucks and gotten an Onkyo 709 or similar, as many of you have suggested to others. In my defense though, I did buy the Yamaha right before I found this forum.

I added a Belkin power conditioner (again based on advice here), which is only the PF30 but it works for my small setup. But again, if I had it to do over, I might have gone to the PF60 in case I did expand in the future.

Anyway, thanks for the advice, direct and indirect. Have a great, safe Thanksgiving everyone. Keep posting and I will keep reading.
Jim
